Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS)
Issuing UTS Tickets:
Passengers are eligible to purchase Unreserved Tickets (UTS) up to three days in advance (excluding the day of travel) for journeys exceeding 200 kilometers. Unreserved tickets for any distance can be purchased on the same day as the journey. Half-yearly (HST) and yearly (YST) season tickets are also available for purchase according to passenger requirements.
Types of Unreserved Tickets:
**Paperless Ticket:**
Passengers can book paperless Journey Tickets, Season Tickets, and Platform Tickets through a mobile application. The tickets will be delivered within the app, allowing passengers to travel without a hardcopy. When asked for a ticket, passengers can use the ‘Show Ticket’ option in the app.
Requirements for paperless ticketing:
– GPS-enabled smartphone
– Paperless tickets are non-refundable
– Journey must commence within one hour of booking
**Paper Ticket:**
Passengers can book tickets through the mobile app, receiving a Booking ID along with other details. Booking details are available in the booking history, and the Booking ID is conveyed through an SMS. The passenger can go to the source station, where the ATVM, CoTVM, or OCR machines can print the ticket using the Booking ID. Alternatively, the UTS booking counter can provide a ticket printout.
After booking a paper ticket:
– Cancellation is allowed either at the counter after printing or through the app before printing, with applicable fees.
– Journey must commence within one hour of printing the paper ticket.
**Cancellation of UTS Tickets:**
Unused tickets without seat or berth reservations can be canceled within three hours of issue or up to 24.00 hours before the day of the journey, depending on whether the ticket is issued on the travel day or in advance. Cancellation is permitted only when the nodes are connected to the server, and it is not allowed at JTBS counters.
**How to Download the utsonmobile App:**
The utsonmobile app is available in OEMs application stores, such as Google Play Store for Android and Window App Store for Windows.
